Bingo iPhone Apps Keep Your Skills Sharp

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

It’s not feasible for most of us to attend a live bingo game every day.  You may not even have time for a few rounds of online bingo.  But there’s always a few extra minutes to play bingo on your smartphone. Bingo Hideout gives an overview of some of the best bingo games on itunes, many of which are free or very inexpensive.

“There are lots of other app’s at the Apple iTunes store some are free bingo games and others have a small charge, but all will allow the bingo game to be played in some pretty obscure places from Grocery Bingo, to WTF Bingo which will allow the iPhone or iPod app to generate bingo cards for specific locations such as the airport or sports match. There is also an app called CS bingo which is based on a game of bingo which is popular in a bar in the States.  This particular bingo game in its pure form requires a chicken and a numbered grid on the floor, the chicken is released and will poop on the numbers and by doing what comes naturally on the grid replaces the more traditional bingo caller. “

How Online Bingo Cards Differ From the Bingo Hall

Monday, October 5th, 2009

While some of the same conventions exist in offline bingo hall games and online bingo, there are a few major differences.   One main difference is that in offline bingo, you can often keep your cards for as long as you like.  In online bingo, a new bingo card is generated for every game.  Below, Bingo Street explains how and why this happens:

“The random number generator powers the computer software so that the bingo balls are offered in a random fashion. This programme is based on algorithms. The online bingo cards use a similar random generator, and each time you join a game of bingo online, new bingo cards are created at random.
The reason you can’t keep playing with the same bingo cards in online bingo is that it would throw the RNG off balance, either giving you an unfair advantage or could even hinder your playing, so every player receives new randomly generated bingo cards at the start of each fresh game of bingo online to keep everything fair and as random as possible.

Another thing to keep in mind when talking about the probability of winning and online bingo cards is that most players will play the maximum number of cards per game, so your chances of winning will increase with every bingo card you purchase. Just remember that your online bingo buddies will be doing exactly the same, keeping it a pretty even playing field.”

Great Ideas For Bingo Games, Bingo Cards

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

This article gives some great ideas of how to play bingo with any age group.  Use bingo cards printed from the web, bingo card software, or your own design program. You can make bingo games that appeal to children in preschool, elementary school or older children.  You can also create your own bingo games for adults based not just on numbers, but themes such as song titles or U.S. cities.  Finally, there’s the ever popular baby shower bingo which includes all baby terms.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Kids love to play Bingo. There’s something about the adventure of being able to match what the Bingo caller is saying with the squares on their Bingo card – combined with the sheer delight of being able to yell “Bingo” before anyone else.

You can create custom Bingo cards using a basic Bingo template. The age of the children will determine what you preprint in the squares:

* For preschoolers – Consider using colors and shapes.
* For elementary school ages – Simple words, letters or numbers work well.
* For older children – Let children create their own boards with words that meet a predetermined theme such as state capitals, names of famous people or things you see on a car ride.”
